(Seychelles News Agency) - Following January’s Marlin Slam Tournament, fishing enthusiasts will hit the Seychelles seas once again from April 11 to April 12 taking part in the 2014 National Fishing Tournament.

The organizer Seychelles Sports Fishing Club is giving both local and foreign participants until Thursday April 10, to register and pay the $290 fee for this overnight fishing tournament.

The competition will start at 09.00 am local time on Friday April 11 ending at 4.00pm Saturday April 12.

The Seychelles National Fishing Tournament is open for trolling and bottom fishing.

“Last year, the teams brought in close to five tonnes of fish so you are guaranteed to see all kinds of fish,” said Seychelles Sports Fishing Club’s Executive Secretary Grant Heyer on the group’s Facebook page.

Proceeds from the sale of fish caught in this tournament will go towards charity.

In January’s marlin Slam Tournament, Seychelles’ team Island Star caught a 212 kilo marlin to take home the $ 20 000 star prize.
