Belgium to invest more in Seychelles – says new Belgian ambassador

(Seychelles News Agency) - The new ambassador for Belgium to Seychelles, Roxane de Bilderling has vowed to continue “the good collaboration” between the Kingdom of Belgium and the Indian Ocean island state, and to increase investment to the country.

She made the declaration following the presentation of her credentials to the Seychelles President James Michel at State House in Victoria, yesterday,

De Bilderling said during her mandate, she will seek to encourage more exchanges and investments as they “contribute to create more economic activities, more revenue and employment…”

“ I visited one of the Belgian investments here and can see how positive it is, how well it is received... We will explore together the sectors and niches where we can encourage more investment from Belgium,” she said in an interview with the local press in Victoria.

The new ambassador hailed the excellent relationship that exists in the field of training, referring to the exchange between the center of Namur which signed an agreement of cooperation with the Seychelles Tourism Academy and allows students and lecturers to benefit from both facilities.

The new ambassador for Belgium will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
