Tasty, tasty, tasty: Burger King, Coffee Club open outlets at Seychelles' airport

(Seychelles News Agency) - Burger King, a major fast food hamburger chain, and the Coffee Club, Australia’s homegrown café brand, are now available in Seychelles at the Pointe Larue airport.

Burger King and the Coffee Club opened on Thursday with the former located at the international departure lounge, and the latter at the domestic terminal on the main island of Mahe.

This means that Burger King is accessible to travellers only while the Coffee Club is accessible to both travellers and the general public in Seychelles, an archipelago in the western Indian Ocean. Both are open seven days a week.

The Coffee Club serves a variety of freshly brewed coffee and bistro food at a casual and stylish yet affordable meeting point for travellers and the general public costing up to $3 (SCR45).Burger King offers a range of burgers with prices ranging from $9 to $12. Dessert and beverages are also available from $3 to $7.

Both outlets are owned and operated by Minor Food Seychelles, a subsidiary of Minor International, which is a leading operator in premium branded hospitality services, restaurants concepts and lifestyles products globally.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the chief executive of Minor International, William Heinecke, said that the food outlets will bring something completely different to Seychelles.

“It aims to provide travellers and members of the public with world-class services that will enhance customer experience and meet expectations in terms of choices, quality and delivery,” said  Heinecke.

The chief executive of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority, Gilbert Faure, said that "Burger King and Coffee Club come at an opportune time with the increasing number of flights to Seychelles. Travellers are expecting standard when they set foot at the airport and these food outlets will offer just that.”

Burger King and Coffee Club’s approach has been welcomed by Selma Etienne who was present to taste the products of Burger King.

“Tasty, tasty, tasty,” Etienne said. “This is how I can describe it.”
