(Seychelles News Agency) - Two beaches in Seychelles once again are being recognized for their talcum-powder-like sand and turquoise blue waters, making the list of ‘The World’s 50 Best Beaches’.
Anse Lazio and Anse Source D’Argent made the collection of global “off-the-beaten-path slices of paradise.”
Grace Bay in the Caribbean archipelago of Turks and Caicos, a British Overseas Territory came out top with a perfect 10 score for both 'sheer untouched beauty' and 'sand and water quality.'
The World’s 50 Best Beaches gives readers a yearly snapshot of the opinions and experiences of the top international travel experts. To put together the list of beaches, Flight Network, one of the largest Canadian-owned online travel agencies, consulted over 600 travel journalists, editors, bloggers and agencies.
The beaches that made it on the list were ranked based on five criteria: sheer untouched beauty, remoteness, sand and water quality, annual days of sunshine, and average annual temperature.
Anse Lazio, located on the second-most populated island, Praslin, ranked third on the list scoring ten out of ten for its sheer untouched beauty. Its quality of sand and water was given a nine out of ten whereas its remoteness earned a seven.
Kiersten, the blogger of The Blonde Abroad, wrote that “the white sand, emerald waters and lush jungle [of Anse Lazio] are pure paradise.”
“Crystal clear water and lush coconut palms backed by granite boulders create a setting that feels more like a dream than real life. Anse Lazio is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, known for its picturesque views and vivid colours,” described Flight Network.
Scoring a perfect ten for its sand and water, Anse Source D’Argent, found on La Digue, came out in 26th place. The website states that “Anse Source D’Argent is the world’s most photographed beach - as its beauty deserves to be forever immortalized.”
“Anse Source D’Argent is a jaw-dropping beach featuring sun-dappled giant boulders, calm turquoise waters, and snow-white sand,” commented Rob Hale – the owner of Travel N Relax Inc. – on the website.
Anse Source D’Argent earlier this year made the cover of the world’s top geographic and travel magazines, National Geographic Traveler. It was described as “where rocks, sands and water combine to amaze.”
The average annual temperature of the water at Anse Lazio and Anse Source D’Argent is 29 and 27 degrees respectively.
