Cabo Verde President visits Seychelles' UNESCO world heritage site of Vallee de Mai

(Seychelles News Agency) - His own personal coco de mer to take back home as one of the many souvenirs of his state visit to Seychelles, the unique gift was presented by the Seychelles Minister for Health Mitcy Larue to the President of Cabo Verde Jorge Carlos Fonseca this morning.

This was at the end of a visit to the UNESCO world heritage site of Vallée de Mai on Seychelles’ second most populated island of Praslin where grows the biggest seed in the world, the coco-de mer.
Visiting Vallée de Mai was in fact the highlight of Fonseca’s visit to Praslin where he and his delegation were given a guided tour through its endemic palm forest.
Fonseca was given explanations on the coco de mer, he even tried to guess the weight of one of the seeds.

Fonseca has spent the whole day on Praslin this Thursday, the last day of his visit to Seychelles, as he leaves the Indian Ocean island tomorrow.
