Chinese couple found dead while snorkeling in Seychelles

(Seychelles News Agency) - The Seychelles police has confirmed the death of a couple whose bodies were found floating in the sea near Silhouette the third largest island of the archipelago.

The police was informed about the incident at around 1439hrs local time.

“…. the corpses were removed from the sea by the boat crew of Labriz Silhouette at around 1340hrs and brought ashore, where CPR was performed by health officers from Silhouette but to no avail,” reads the police statement issued yesterday evening.

They were certified dead at 1500hrs local time.

The couple who have been identified as Fu Huei and Rui Vei both aged 28 were of Chinese nationality.

According to the police statement they had gone snorkelling prior to be found floating in the sea.

They had arrived on Silhouette on Tuesday and were supposed to leave the island today.

“The Police have not yet determined the circumstance which led to the death of Miss Huei and Mr Vei.”

The investigation continues while the police awaits autopsy results to know the exact cause of death.
