$20 thousand prize for biggest fish in Seychelles' Marlin Slam

((Seychelles News Agency)) - Two more days are left for big game fishing fans to gather their rods and prepare for the ultimate angler's challenge of the Seychelles' Marlin Slam starting in the early hours of January 18.

In a statement, the Seychelles Sports Fishing Club said it is offering a cash prize of 20,500 to the winning team that brings in the heaviest marlin caught by trolling. The competition is open to teams with boats of all sizes and starts at 0300 local time and ends 12 hours later.

Team Special K was the winner of last year’s Marlin Slam with a blue marlin haul of 108 kg.

The annual Seychelles Sports Fishing Club competition is the largest fishing competition in the Seychelles islands, known to have one of the richest big game fishing grounds in the world.
