Seychelles' police await autopsy results after sudden death of Hungarian man

(Seychelles News Agency) - The Seychelles’ authorities are investigating the “sudden death” of a Hungarian man reported on Monday morning, the police said.

The man, 37, was on holiday in the island nation together with his companion. They were staying at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Baie Lazare, in the South of the Seychelles main island, Mahe.

According to the police statement, it was the man’s companion who informed the management of the hotel that “she noticed something was abnormal with her boyfriend, upon waking up at around 8 a.m.”

The statement adds that medical assistance was sought by the hotel’s management.

“Unfortunately, when medical assistance arrived the man was found to be unresponsive.”

The Hungarian national was certified dead at the scene by the doctor and pathologist.

The Seychelles police was informed about the incident shortly after 9 a.m. Monday.

The authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death.
