Seychelles top selling artists shine at Cable Tunes Music Awards

(Seychelles News Agency) - Seychelles Cable Tunes top selling artists of 2015 were rewarded Saturday in the 6th edition of the Cable Tunes Music Awards ceremony.
Well known artist Philip Toussaint is the best male and Taniah Jeremie the best female artist of 2015. Toussaint also won together with Jarimba the best collaboration with their song ‘Pa pou anpandan.’
Upon receiving his award Toussaint thanked all his fans for the votes and asked for their continued support.
Young female artist Tania Jeremie, 20 years old, showed her talent as a female artist performing for crowd before accepting her trophy.
Jeremie said she will be absent on the local music scene for a while but will not leave her fans empty handed.
" I have taken the opportunity to pursue further studies this year…but I am working on an album so I want to tell all my fans that they should expect an album from me."

Cable Tunes is a mobile phone service offered by Cable and Wireless Seychelles in support of local artists.
Clients purchase local songs made into ringtones and get the chance to vote for the artist of their choice for the award ceremony at the end of each year.

Top selling artists are then honoured during the Cable Tunes Award ceremony held for the past six years in Seychelles, a group of 115 islands in the western Indian ocean.
The 6th edition of the award took place at Tequila Boom discotheque at Beau Bel, in the northern part of Mahe.
