(Seychelles News Agency) - Despite Manchester United’s Phil Jones being on a relaxing holiday with his girlfriend in the Seychelles, the professional footballer had his fans all around the world’s hearts in their throats after he posted a picture of himself on Twitter balancing on the edge of a swimming pool against a beautiful but dramatic backdrop.
“Chilled times” were the only words he posted along with the photo last weekend, but his followers on social media were evidently much less chilled about the experience than he was.
The footballer signed with Manchester United in 2011 for £16.5 million (around $26.2 million), having previously played for Blackburn Rovers.
Only a week ago, Jones suffered an ankle injury while playing Slovenia for the English national team and was substituted at half-time, according to the Manchester Evening News.
But it seems the dodgy ankle hasn’t left the Man U defender afraid to saunter around on the edges of infinity pools, given the spectacular view on offer.
The injury-prone defender, who has suffered 23 injuries in the past four seasons playing for the popular English Premier League club, has 1.9 million followers on Twitter and 442,000 followers on Instagram.
The photo elicited reactions from hundreds of fans cautioning against him falling off the edge of the pool, others wondering if he had remembered to take out comprehensive holiday insurance and even an amusing photoshopped picture of him wrapped up in bandages in the same setting.

“Is it wise for an injury-prone footballer to stand on a balcony?” asked one fan.
“Knowing your track record is it wise standing there?” said another.
“Bet your physios can't chill if you keep uploading pics like these...” quipped another Twitter follower.
Jones posted another snap to Instagram and Twitter – a collage of the sights he and his girlfriend took in roaming around the archipelago, including a shot of the colourful Hindu temple and the market in the capital of Victoria, the small-scale replica of Big Ben, known among the local Creole population as the Lorloz, and one of him and his girlfriend standing on a viewing platform overlooking the Sainte Anne marine reserve, although this time safely ensconced behind a safety barrier.

Although it is not known if Jones has left for home yet or not, from his photograph it is believed that he was booked in at the exclusive and luxurious Four Seasons Hotel situated in the south of the main island of Mahé, where celebrities often book private villas to get some much-needed sun, swimming and relaxation.
The tranquil 115-island archipelago of Seychelles, situated in the warm tropical waters of the western Indian Ocean, are often frequented by the rich and famous, the most notable guests being the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who stayed at the ultra-exclusive private island resort of North Island in 2011 after their wedding.
