25 year old Indian worker presumed drowned in Seychelles

(Seychelles News Agency) - The Seychelles police has reported the death of a 25-year-old Indian national who is presumed by police to have drowned on Thursday afternoon.
In a press statement issued this afternoon the police said the incident occurred at Roche Copra in the Baie Lazare district in the southern part of the Seychelles main populated island of Mahé.
“According to reports, it was at around 1300hrs, that the victim was... drinking with some friends on the beach, later he went for a swim…” read the statement, adding that at one point his friends noticed that he was having difficulty getting out of the sea.
“With the help of his friends he was taken ashore, given CPR then conveyed to Anse Royale hospital where he was later certified dead.”
A police spokesperson confirmed to SNA that the Indian man, who lived at Les Mamelles on the eastern coast of the main island of Mahé, was a construction worker in Seychelles.
An autopsy will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
