(Seychelles News Agency) - Germany is ready to engage in other cooperation with the Seychelles alongside enhancing existing partnerships, declared the newly accredited German Ambassador to the Indian Ocean archipelago Andreas Peschke in a press interview this morning.

Seychelles and Germany have existing cooperation in the fields of tourism, sustainable and eco-friendly development as well as the fight against piracy.

“Seychelles and Germany are close partners in the fight against piracy and we want to continue to fight piracy until we eradicate it. There’s the German Energy Agency, which is called DENA which has developed a solar concept for the Seychelles in some pilot solar insulations and which have been installed. We would like to see more cooperation in this field and we are ready for other cooperation as well,” said Peschke.

The German diplomat was speaking after he had presented his credentials to Seychelles President James Michel at State House this morning.

Peschke is based in Nairobi.
