(Seychelles News Agency) - The Seychelles Magistrates’ court on Friday remanded five Seychellois citizens arrested following a seizure of 3 kg of compressed cannabis on board an Air Seychelles flight from Johannesburg, South Africa.
All five suspects will appear in court on November 19.
According to the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB), the five Seychellois were arrested by ANB officers in collaboration with Customs Officers in the late Thursday and early Friday.
The Bureau said it arrested a 32-year-old female owner of a wholesale/retail business and a 19-year-old male casual labourer, both from the reclaimed island of Perseverance 2, at the Seychelles International Airport. The suspects were travelling on Air Seychelles Airbus A30, flight HM060 from Johannesburg.
The remaining three suspects who were later arrested are a couple from Quincy Village and a 33-year-old male aircraft technician of Air Seychelles from Maldive.
