(Seychelles News Agency) - The President of Seychelles, Danny Faure, is travelling to France to attend the Paris Peace Forum, said State House.
Faure, who leaves the country on Saturday, will be attending the inaugural edition of the Paris Peace Forum at the invitation of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The Forum will be inaugurated on November 11, 2018, which is also Armistice Day, marking 100 years since the end of World War I. It aims at reviving collective governance, international cooperation, and institution-building given the existing global context.
The Paris Peace Forum is neither a summit nor a conference but a new annual event based on a simple idea: international cooperation is key to tackling global challenges and ensuring durable peace. In order to support collective action, the forum will gather all actors of global governance under one roof for three days.
While it has been initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron, the forum is being organised by several institutions in France and the Körber Foundation and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
The Executive Committee of the Forum is made up of these organisations and is advised by the steering committee comprised of 16 personalities with an international reputation, coming from all continents.
